This Power Point Presentation and Leader’s Guide will support workshops on various aspects of reading instruction that follows information in the booklet. All workshop participants will need a booklet. The Leader – director, supervisor, and/or instructional leader – will also need a booklet. Then, once read, the Leader can guide a group of instructors/teachers through discussions and activities using the Power Point Presentation.

The guide provides lecture, discussion, and activity ideas that are supported by that presentation as well as by the booklet. There is information for two workshops. Additional handouts are also provided. They will need to be copied for each workshop participant.

This professional development method can truly support instructional change and student learning. It can support systems change within an instructional program. These effective instructional ideas can help students stay in class, reach their goals, and move forward to their next venture.
